Hello! My name is Traisha LaPorte and this is my 8th year teaching middle school Language Arts! I am proud to be a Puma! I teach seventh grade Language Arts, and electives. I am also the speech and debate coach.  I am a giant nerd in so many ways! I am huge lover of fantasy, and classic literature (I am an English teacher haha!). My favorite authors are Sarah J. Maas and William Shakespeare ( A.K.A. Billy Shakes). I love film and television, well, I love pop culture in general. I also play board games, and video games in my spare time. I spend the majority of my time with my five fur-babies: Milo, Roxie, Matilda, Norman, and Buster. I also spend time with my husband, but I prefer the animals (Just kidding... kinda). You will see me with Starbucks in my hand at least twice a week, and I will always find an excuse to go to Target. I believe in teaching in a student-centered classroom where my students feel safe and welcomed and most importantly, feel like they are in a space where they can be themselves. I am all about student voice, and choice and finding ways to make the content relatable and engaging for them. My relationships with kids have always been my strength as an educator. This year is going to be lit!
