If it is necessary for you to take your student during the school day, please follow the early dismissal procedure outlined below:
Send your student to school with a note requesting the specific time that you would like him/her to meet you in the front office.
Have your student drop this note by the main office first thing in the morning in exchange for an early dismissal pass.
Have your student give this early dismissal pass to the teacher they have during the period that they will be leaving school. Your student may need to remind their teacher when it is time for them to be dismissed from class.
Meet and sign your student out in th main office at your requested dismissal time.
**This process reduces calls into the classroom interrupting instruction.
**Your student will be waiting for you in the front office at the designated time.
NEW INFORMATION THIS SCHOOL YEAR:
Office Hours and Access
The Preston main office is open each day, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. All doors, including the front doors to our school are locked throughout the school day, except for a brief window before and after school for students to enter and exit the building. This year we will use the door buzzer at the front door during the school day to unlock the door for students, parents, and/or visitors. If you arrive and the doors are locked, please push the button on the outside intercom system on the purple wall to the right of the front doors and wait for a response. You will hear the lock disengage
We also ask parents and/or visitors that visit or drop off anything during the school day to park in the parking lot. Please do not park anywhere in the front fire lane for any length of time at any point in time. We appreciate your patience and support as we continue to ensure safety for our Preston community.
6th Grade Students and New 7th/8th Grade Students
Poudre School District’s Provided Device program gives students access to a mobile laptop device, allowing the digital learning to continue in and out of school. For your student to be ready for this 1:1 rollout, you will need to do a few steps. Below are links that Poudre School District has put to together to help with this process and introduce some computer/internet safety tips. There is a one-time middle school fee of $50.00. This fee covers some of the cost associated with providing students a device. Please pay this one-time fee on SchoolPay. Laptops will be checked out to students once the one-time fee has been paid and the PSD Provided Device User Agreement has been completed and turned in to your child’s English teacher.
PSD Provided Device Resources: At this site, please look at the following items:
PSD Provided Device User Agreement- Please sign and return this document to your child’s English teacher
The Family and Student user agreement form will be distributed to all 6th grade students during the 6th grade Transition day on August 21, 2018. All new 7th and 8th grade students to PSD/Preston will get this form from their 6th hour teacher on the first day of school on August 22, 2018.
Once the form is completed by a parent/guardian, your child will turn it into the same teacher the following day.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Preston Middle School. We look forward to another great year with this exciting 1:1 technology opportunity.
