Biographical Sketch:

I am originally from New Hampshire and have lived in many states throughout my life.  I am married to a wonderful woman named Heather and we have 2 children.  I graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and got my Masters degree from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.  I have been teaching for the Poudre School District for 8 years.  I am really excited to be a part of the Preston team and grow with this community.

Education Background:

I graduated from Miami University with two majors:  Management Information Systems and Marketing.  I held a job in the tech industry but it didn’t feel right so I went back to school to become a teacher by earning a Master’s Degree in Teaching from Willamette University.

Why I enjoy teaching:

I love to teach for so many reasons.  I love to help students during their middle school years because they need connections, boosts to the esteem and that extra adult to help them find their purpose.  Teaching is not something I take lightly and being the father of 2 young boys I know how important being a good teacher is and the role I play.  I really do enjoy this career and feel honored to be a part of so many students’ lives.

Interests & Hobbies:

I love staying active, traveling, and being a dad.  I try to ride my bike to school each day and run around playing soccer or baseball with my two boys.  Traveling around the country on road trips is something my family loves to do.  I have been to all 50 states and so far have visited 31 countries with many more to go!

Courses Taught:

  • 8th Grade English
  • 7th and 8th Grade Drama
  • Study Hall
  • Gift and Talented Coordinator
  • eSports Teacher/Coach

About my classroom:

It is so important for students to feel welcomed and valued in my classroom.  I do my best to allow students to have choice in their learning and feel that they are empowered to shape their own learning.  I have high expectations of my students, and with encouragement, support and a classroom culture that allows them to take risks students will find success in my room.
