Biographical Sketch

Although I was born in Southern California, I have been a Coloradoan for most of my life.  I went to Poudre School District schools, and Colorado State University.  I have been teaching Science at Preston for 24 years and have loved every minute of it!  I live in Loveland with my husband, who owns a bicycle store, and we have two young adult sons.

Educational Background

I graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Biology, and the University of Northern Colorado with a masters degree in Interdisciplinary Education.

Why I enjoy Preston

I love teaching at Preston because there is such a positive energy among the students and staff!  Our kids have the chance to explore so many educational opportunities taught by dedicated and enthusiastic teachers throughout each school day.

Favorite Book

My favorite book is any kind of mystery!

Interests and Hobbies

I enjoy riding horses, mountain biking, paddle boarding and taking road trips (well, really any kind of trip!)

Classes taught

I teach Science 7 and Oceanography.

About my Classroom

I believe that learning science should be an active and collaborative experience!  I like to have my students work on authentic, hands on learning, and I try to incorporate project based lessons frequently.  I love getting to know the kids and seeing how science can enrich their lives!
