About Me
I’m a Colorado native; I grew up in the Southern Colorado town of Canon City. For the past 9 years, I’ve lived in Northern Colorado with my wife Elva and our 2 daughters. I have been in education for 24 years as both a classroom teacher and school administrator.
Education
I earned my graduate and undergraduate degrees at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. *Go Lobos! While at UNM, I studied History and Secondary Education. I’ve been fortunate to teach high school social studies in both New Mexico and Colorado. In my 15 years as a classroom teacher, I taught almost every possible social studies class, I also coached track, cross country, football, and wrestling. I earned my administrative license at CSU and have spent the past 9 years as an Assistant Principal & Athletic Director. My experience as an administrator has taken me to Heath MS, Webber MS, and I will start my 5th year, here at Preston Middle School.
Preston Community
I love living in the in the community I serve! Both of my kids are Preston Pumas and FRHS SaberCats. The Preston staff and community are special to me because of the support we give each other, our community is always better together.
Favorite Reading
I enjoy reading books about history, sports leadership, and war. Lately, I seem to be spending most of my time reading educational leadership.
Interests
I enjoy fly fishing, mountain biking, skiing, and working on projects in my garage. 😊
