About Me
Profile Text 1:
Dear Choir Students and Parents I am very excited to be the choir director at Preston Middle School. It is such a privilege to be your director and to be a part of the Preston community. Music excellence has been evident at Preston from the beginning and I look forward to continuing that proud tradition. We have an active music department and this year will be no exception. It is essential that choir performances be a part of your family calendar and that concert attire be followed. I will communicate regularly via email and on our website with both students and parents as we prepare for our performances this year. I earned my Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Wyoming and my Master’s Degree in Music from Colorado State University. I also have the privilege of being the Assistant Conductor of the Larimer Chorale. Working with young singers to develop their vocal abilities and musicianship is a passion that I bring to the Preston choirs. I am thrilled at the opportunity to work at Preston. My two sons were Preston Pumas and have fond memories of their experiences here. Please check the choral music calendar for reference during the year. The calendar can be found on the Preston Choirs/ Musical Theatre website. We have made every effort to be as accurate as possible with our schedule and will update information in a timely fashion. Choir is a performance-based class and our concerts are an essential element to our making music at Preston. Music students are expected to be responsible and hardworking people who are positive contributors to our music and school community. We all need to work together to create a music program that is committed to excellence. I’m looking forward to a rewarding year. Musically, Jean Johnson
